Refund and Cancellation Policy
At Ghumelo, we understand that sometimes plans change. Our cancellation and refund policy is designed to be fair while considering the logistics of organizing adventure travel.
Please note, the booking fee is non-refundable in all cases.
Cancellation by Traveler
If you need to cancel your booking, the following refund structure applies:
• 30+ days before departure – If you have paid in full, the refundable amount will be the total amount paid minus the booking fee.
• 15-30 days before departure – 50% refund.
• 7-15 days before departure – 25% refund.
• Less than 7 days before departure – No refund.
Rescheduling & Transfers
• You may reschedule your trip to a future date (subject to availability).
• You may transfer your booking to another person if you inform us at least 7 days before departure, and the replacement traveler meets all eligibility criteria.
Cancellation by Ghumelo
In rare cases, we may have to cancel a trip due to extreme weather, natural disasters, or insufficient bookings. If this happens, you will receive:
• A full refund, or
• The option to reschedule for a future departure.
No-Shows & Last-Minute Cancellations
If a traveler fails to show up on the scheduled departure day without prior notice, no refund or rescheduling will be offered.
Refund Processing
Refunds (where applicable) will be processed within 7-10 business days via the original payment method.
Disclaimer

It is the traveler’s responsibility to assess their own health and fitness levels before joining a trek or tour. If you have any medical conditions, please consult a doctor before booking. Ghumelo is not liable for any health-related issues that may arise during the trip.
Changes & Cancellations
Ghumelo reserves the right to modify itineraries, accommodations, or schedules due to unforeseen circumstances such as weather, road conditions, or local regulations. We will always try to provide the best alternative in such cases.
Third-Party Services & Transportation
We collaborate with third-party service providers for transportation, accommodation, and other logistics. While we carefully select our partners, we are not responsible for any delays, service failures, or accidents caused by these third parties. Travelers are encouraged to verify the safety measures of transportation providers and follow all safety guidelines.
In the case of unforeseen accidents involving third-party transport services, Ghumelo cannot be held liable for injuries, damages, or losses. We strongly recommend that all travelers have personal travel insurance to cover such risks.
Personal Belongings
Travelers are responsible for their own belongings. Ghumelo is not liable for any lost, stolen, or damaged items during the trip.
Code of Conduct
We expect all travelers to respect local customs, fellow travelers, and the environment. Disruptive behavior, including but not limited to alcohol consumption (where prohibited), littering, or disrespecting cultural sites, may result in removal from the trip without a refund.
